Not every data marketplace works the same way. Some list your data to all comers; others run under a partner agreement or a private exchange.

Partner programmes

Databricks says its provider policy is part of the Databricks Data Partner Program Agreement, and Defined.ai describes licensing fees from data marketplace sales under a partnership.

Private exchanges

Monda describes launching your own private data marketplace on its exchange technology, with pricing plans given on request.

Open listings

Opendatabay lists datasets with prices on the page, denominated in USD from 1 October 2026, and Kaggle's terms say it may offer its services at no cost or charge a fee for using them.

Does Kaggle pay for datasets?

The terms of use we read say nothing about Kaggle paying for a dataset, and name no fee to sellers. What they do say is that Kaggle may offer its services at no cost or charge for using them, and that the licences it takes leave your ownership of what you submit unaffected.
