What each one takes
Marketplace fees for data sellers: AWS, Datarade and Snowflake
Updated
Where a marketplace's own page explains its seller fee, this is what it says, beside what the rest leave out.
Ask about selling my data Fees and payout as each marketplace's own pages put them, with our reading of exclusivity, one marketplace to a row.
AWS Data Exchange: what its fee pages say
AWS's page on listing fees for sellers names a 3% fee for AWS Data Exchange. It says a private offer's fee depends on its total contract value and on whether the offer renews an earlier private offer or an agreement made outside AWS Marketplace. The rates it quotes by contract value run from 3% below $1M, through 2% from $1M to below $10M, to 1.5% at $10M or more; read on that page which offers they apply to before you price a deal on them. AWS deducts the listing fee from the amount it pays the seller.

The AWS Data Exchange pricing page says AWS Marketplace charges tiered fulfilment fees on the revenue AWS collects for all new subscriptions to a seller's data products.

Datarade: a yearly fee or a larger commission
Datarade's provider plans set a yearly fee against a commission on each sale: $0 a year with 30% commission, $6,000 a year with 20%, or $12,000 a year with 15%. A seller paying more up front gives up a smaller share of each sale.

Snowflake Marketplace: a fee kept off the page
Snowflake charges a transaction fee and deducts it from the provider's payout, but its page sends providers to Snowsight for the fee schedule rather than printing it, so the board records the fee as given on request. Its provider terms add that fees are exclusive of taxes.
The marketplaces that do not say
5 of the 9 marketplaces state no seller fee on the pages we read, and 2 give it only on request. Before listing with any of them, ask in writing for the fee, the payout terms and whether the listing is exclusive.
